My husband and I utilized Katherine’s doula services for my most recent labor and delivery in 2022.
She went above and beyond to make my natural birth plan become a positive experience
I will cherish the rest of my life. Her services changed my husband’s views on the importance
and necessity of a doula. She is a vital asset to anyone choosing to hire her as their doula.
From our initial meeting, Katherine provided continuous support through resources,
suggestions, and information on questions/concerns I had. She was attentive to my natural
birth plan and when I went into labor, she went above and beyond to implement everything we
discussed. She remained easy to get a hold of throughout her time as my doula but was
especially quick to respond and arrive at the hospital when requested as I went into labor.
During my labor and delivery, she created a peaceful atmosphere that helped my husband and I
prepare for meeting our baby. Most importantly, she was attentive to all my needs and was by
my side for every single contraction, gently reminding me that I was about to welcome my baby
into this world. She knowledgably assisted with verbal prompting, position changes/cuing, and
tactile cuing while attending to my needs and wants. She also instilled confidence in my
husband by prompting and teaching him how he could assist which he wanted, and I loved.
After birth, she followed up with any postpartum questions or concerns that I had. She also
gave us incredible pictures she took during labor (taken with my permission) that I will cherish
forever. Kind, caring, peaceful, thorough, knowledgeable, attentive, professional, and timely are just a
few of the many traits Katherine holds. Katherine’s thoughtfulness and attentiveness to detail
was crucial in creating a peaceful atmosphere for delivering my daughter with the healthiest
and most satisfying experience possible. Her work ethics, gentle spirit, and ability to care for
others, is everything you could want and need in a doula. I am confident that no matter who
she serves or what birth plan they have, she would create a positive atmosphere and be
beneficial as a support personnel. Katherine would be the perfect addition to any person
needing doula services and I highly recommend her as an individual and professional.

Katherine served as my doula during my second pregnancy, from October 2022 through February 2023. It is my pleasure to recommend Katherine Clare for her doula services. Katherine proved to be one of the single best decisions that my husband and I decided to make during my pregnancy. The first time we met with Katherine, both of us immediately felt comfortable and at ease with her. She is incredibly kind, and extremely supportive. During my pregnancy I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and Katherine provided great support for me while coming to terms with what that meant, along with providing me some more research and information, after first confirming that I was comfortable with everything. Having a doula for my second pregnancy was important to me so that I could have another advocate on my side to help with the birth plan I envisioned, after having a less than ideal first pregnancy experience. I met with Katherine on several occasions and together we came up with a written birth plan that I was comfortable with, and that could reasonably be met by the hospital and doctor I was delivering with. During this process Katherine also had conversations with my husband to help him learn techniques and ways that he could support me during labor. Katherine asked questions to ensure she knew what type of support I would need, how I would need it, and it what ways she could help to provide it. When Katherine came over the morning I went into labor she walked around with me, provided me comfort and support with back rubs and words of encouragement. During contractions both at home and at the hospital she would remind me to relax my body and help me to center myself which helped immensely with getting through the pain of each one. I can honestly say that the comfort, ease, and speed of my labor and delivery would have been entirely different had Katherine not been by my side. What was even more appreciated was the follow up visit and chats that she would have with me after I gave birth and was settled back at home, to check on my mental wellbeing. Any chance that I get, I sing the highest of praises about Katherine, and recommend her to anyone inquiring about having a doula.
